Maria Batata Restaurant

Maria Batata Restaurant decorated with its own design and author lighting desingn too has an icon of the fireplace design designed by Dominique Imbert in 1968. At the end of the day a unique atmosphere of gastronomic rhythms and flavors is developed. A good part of the raw materials is from own production certified in organic farming. Here our guests can delight our menu or our tasting menu.

Red Soul by Rio do Prado goes back to a gastronomy period when food was prepared with nothing else but wood-fire. We suggest a contact with our local roots by means of uncovering lost flavours and highlighting the idea of a special celebration. Our team of creative chefs reinvent ancient cooking techniques performing live cooking around the fire pit, bringing back traditional flavours with the freshest ingredients.

Imagine a special kitchen designed to be implemented in the middle of a fruit tree field. A place to uncover the local flavours where you can directly collect the vegetables from the ground where it grows. The menus follow the rhythm of what the local nature has to offer, with the bio production methods that Rio do Prado already set in place for their guests. We invite you to a journey to a green land full of flavours where you can enjoy and socialise with family and friends.

The relentlessly beautiful Óbidos Lagoon is just around the corner, and we are now going the extra mile to make it even more beautiful to contemplate. We suggest a sunset schedule where we challenge you to engage with a paradisiac location where no man made constructions can be seen, only the ecological balance of men and nature in front of a natural body of water with a remarkable sunset view. Between 5pm and 7pm is now time to smoke eels, eating clams, oysters or scallops accompanied by pro secco and champagne.

   

Gulbenkian Room

We have an incredible library next to the Maria Batata restaurant, with books donated by the prestigious Gulbenkian foundation, which is nothing more than completing another need for food, that of the spirit.
